Manfred Böhlke
President
Manfred Böhlke came to America as a timber buyer for a German veneer manufacturer in the early 1960s. His task was to buy the finest veneer-quality trees available. When he arrived for the first time in America, it wasn't just the finest walnut logs the world had ever seen that he found... it was a new home. With very little money saved he went out on his own. In the beginning, convincing a banker that the logs he wanted to buy were already sold took some persistence! But that persistence paid off and has continued to pay off over the last forty years. Since then, Manfred Böhlke grew from a logger to a custom cutter to a veneer merchant to a veneer manufacturer and ultimately the head of the M. Böhlke group of companies that specialize in hardwood wood products including logs, veneer, sliced faces, and lumber. Today, Manfred Böhlke proudly oversees his creation and enjoys time with his family and and a love of sailing.
Marc Böhlke
(1969-2009)
Marc Böhlke grew up with the veneer business. Weekends in the fall, winter and spring were time for father and son to venture into the woods looking for the perfect walnut tree. Summers were spent helping in the warehouse and flipping veneer for customers while winter holidays meant clipping logs in the log yard. Marc chose to study architecture for his formal education, and follows architecture closely to this day. M. Böhlke Veneer's corporate office was designed by Marc Böhlke. He joined full time with the company in 1993. Having worked his way through the business, Marc built the face manufacturing facility and implemented the computer information systems. Today Marc Böhlke purchases logs, burls, and veneer and is integrally involved in selling veneer and faces the world over. He enjoys his time with his family, sailing, biking and snow boarding.
Mike Gleason
Vice President Purchasing
Mike Gleason also grew up with the veneer business, coming to work with his father Tom Gleason, head log buyer with Manfred Böhlke from 1970 to 1991. Mike developed his career under the guiding hand of his father who was one of the founding partners of M. Böhlke Veneer Corp. Since his father's retirement in 1991, Mike has been supervising the log department and log buyers. He is integrally involved in purchasing logs and standing timber and personally ensures that every log that is sold or enters production is destined for premium veneer. Mike enjoys time with his family, golfing and fishing.
Rainer Ingmann
Vice President Production
Rainer Ingmann joined M. Böhlke Veneer in 1980, shortly after the veneer factory began producing its first veneer on two Cremona machines. With a Bachelor's Degree in Wood Technology and hands on experience even before joining the Böhlke Team, Rainer Ingmann has been leading our manufacturing facility for close to 25 years. Rainer's talent and innovative thinking in developing new technologies to improve cutting, yield and the quality of our veneer has been an important asset in making our manufacturing plant the state-of-the-art facility that it is today.
